I came to Rash for help with a couple of areas in my life. Partly for dealing with pain and disfunction in different parts of my body and I also knew she did healing trauma through movement, which was the main thing that drew me to meet with her. I wanted help and I knew she could do that, but I had no idea how this was going to go or what I was in for. I was just open I guess and ready for it, whatever that was going to be. I had no idea that I was about to embark on a journey that would truly change my life. My Initial meeting with Rash was a three hour assessment. Three hours with her and she uncovers and unravels over forty years of hidden truths buried in denial and coping mechanisms that were only leading me in a path of destruction both mentally and physically. Rash presented to me with the option of changing my life or staying in denial. Her approach was a perfect balance of tough-love and care, she made me believe that I had what it takes to change. And there it was, the beginning of a beautiful journey of self discovery, healing and growth. The greatest and the hardest 12 months of my life. Over the past year I’ve had some highs and some very low lows. She was right there with me, lifting me up, believing in me, causing me to get up and keep going and never to give up. She taught me how to accept myself and to fight for myself; which I now know to be a true expression self love. Rash helped me find my inner strength and opened my eyes and my heart to find my true self. Rash shows up every time in her full glory and brings all of herself. She never misses a beat, never misses a word I say, even the smallest expression and reads every signal. She is full of wisdom and a never-ending treasure box of knowledge that is practical and actionable. All I had to do was be vulnerable and willing to do the work. I treasure all she has taught me and shared with me as I know it has come from a place of authenticity and real life experience. Rash is absolutely brilliant, brutal and unbelievably beautiful! She has saved my life! This woman is a wonder! Who knows where I would’ve been without her. Our paths were meant to cross. I was drawn to her like a moth to a flame. I couldn’t miss her energy and her light! Thankful for her everyday and forever…
From the first time I meet coach Rash, I knew there was a person that could help me physically and mentally, I walked out of our first consult and was excited to see where this journey would take me. Ill never forget that Coach Rash said to me on my first consult “ our sessions are usually half hour or so but the work you will do in that time will feel like a 2-hour session” I laughed it off because I thought to myself, what could she possibly put me through in such a short time that would make me feel like that?. Well, I was wrong. Some of my sessions have ended up with me crying on the floor and needing more time to recover then what the session was. But every session has been absolutely worth it!
I’m a person who openly suffers with depression, Coach Rash has been nothing short of a God send for me. She knows when I’m having a bad day and knows exactly what session she needs to put me through to get me through the week and will also check in from time to time to see how I’m going. There have been times when our sessions are straight out killer workouts and there have also been session that are literally us just having a chat to see what we need to do to get me physical and mentally ready for a week or certain goal. I can honestly say without her help I really don’t know where I would be today.
One of Coach Rash’s gifts are knowing how your body and your stress levels/emotions are connected and will work on certain aspects of your body to help with injury caused by this.
When I first started training with her, I had a bad back. I was told I would need surgery to fix it. This was one of the first things we worked on. The structure of my body and any past or present trauma that I could be holding onto that has caused my back issues. Today I have no pain in my back and if I do I know that I have the best coach in the world who I can call on anytime for help. But more so she has given me the knowledge on how to understand my body better then I ever did before.
Coach Rash also knows how to call me out on sessions when I’m not giving it my all and is not afraid to call me out and keep me going until we have achieved the desired results and is not afraid to tell you straight out that you’re not giving it your all.
But most of all Coach Rash has become someone I can confide in with no judgement when I feel I need some non-biased advise and I call a lifelong friend.
I have no problem in recommending her to anybody who is out there looking for a next level Coach and is looking for someone who will guide them and give her all to make sure you get the best results possible. You will not be disappointed in taking that first step and calling coach Rash.
I joined the gym (Revolution X) late 2016 with the sole purpose of losing weight and being physically comfortable in my own skin. When I joined the gym I was going through a journey of self discovery and self acceptance. From 2016 to roughly 2019 my fitness journey was extremely inconsistent and this was more so due to my own mental and emotional battle that was a constant distraction and drain. 2019 things started to change and I started to train harder and eat better which was great, but I was also numbing myself because I didn't want to face how I really felt inside my head. 2020, first lockdown happened and I was watching The CrossFit Games, because what else was there to do, and something started to click. Being in lockdown makes you feel caged and stuck, I was still training, but it wasn’t the same as being at the gym with the crew. And not being busy makes you think about things you try to avoid. I texted Rash and my focus was to develop my OLY lifting skill set. That was my subliminal way of wanting to focus on me and dealing with my emotional and mental self. After we spent a session unpacking and talking about my goals, focuses, injuries and traumas, I started training with Rash weekly and I didn't realise the impact pent up emotions had on the body, and what it did to movement and injuries. We started with the dreaded leg extensions, where she taught me to "Chase the Bear" until I activated the target muscle needed for that particular movement, so turn your muscle on, stop blocking it and make it burn. Do what you need to do to get that muscle working, releasing emotions is okay, it’s a safe space to do so. As we started focusing on different muscles, different movements and we unlocked different mental barriers that was impacting my muscle activation and movement. I didn’t just learn movement, I also learnt to accept what I can and can’t change, don’t let other people’s thoughts control me and to be my own boss essentially. I started to let go of anger and trauma that I had with people in my life, and with Rash’s wisdom, changed my perspective on how conversations should be held with those dearest to me. I try so hard every day to be the best version of myself and better than my yesterday. Exercise helps me regulate myself but I was getting frustrated because I felt like my whole world was out of my control. Through my sessions with Rash, I was able to better understand myself and accept myself for who I am, and start taking control of fitness journey, muscle activation and movement. I’ve improved significantly in my training, but more importantly, in the way I view myself and the world around me.
After enduring 4 yrs of pain in my left shoulder & a failed attempt at masking it with a cortisone injection - I sought out Coach Rach’s help in trying to “permanently” alleviate the constant pain in my left shoulder. Coach Rach’s method focuses on both mental and physical development to address the issue. Going through key points from childhood until the present to obtain a holistic view of “what”, “when” & “how”, allowed Coach Rach to develop a rehab program that focused on structure & identifying deficiencies/weaknesses. Developing the areas around the shoulder, to take the “heat” off the shoulder & share the load. Coach Rach developed a program which I went away and executed (normally before my CrossFit WODs). I can now say that I am pain-free, stronger and busting out multiple unbroken pull-ups & overhead bar work without any issue. That first bar muscle-up is in my line of sight now!!! The best thing of all is that I have gained a mentor for life - who even to this day, watches over my movements during a WoD and continues to provide guidance - all part of the service! Kudos to Coach Rach 💪🏻💪🏻
I searched high and low, gym to gym looking for the space that would make me a better human. Better physically, mentally and emotionally. One of my best friends introduced me to Rash and Rev X. I realised at that point, what I needed was more than just a space. It was a mentality shift. Being a clinician, Rash spoke to me at an anatomical as well as functional level. We discussed various parts of rehabilitation and performance. Immediately I was hooked, I found another like minded person! And from there the journey of self discovery began. She’s not traditional and she has definitely pushed me to my limits (at times I’ve wanted to strangle her) but here we are, 2 years down the track I am fitter and stronger than I ever have been. I have a greater understanding of myself and as a Physiotherapist, a whole new skill set to delve into for my patients. This for me was priceless, a different realm to explore. To this day, Rash checks in regularly with me. She challenges me with new ideas and concepts every few weeks. I have a lot of respect for what she stands for and have no doubt that SWAT is a tribe I am grateful to be a part of.
Rash knows the perfect balance between when to push and when to lay off. Her experience in the physical aspect of training, along with the mental aspect has been invaluable to me.
Her knowledge of the body combined with her understanding of life’s challenges has made it much easier for me to continue my journey of fulfilling my goals.
Goals change over time and Rash will adapt with you.
She is passionate, driven and has an incredible work ethic.
It will be hard work, bloody hard work- but worth it.
After a recommendation from my practitioner, I visited Rachelle during lockdowns with extreme back pain, SIJ and shoulder issues. The first workout that she prescribed specifically for my state using her unique skill set, experience and knowledge of the human body and nervous system resulted in an immediate morphine-like pain relieve and sense of euphoria that took me by surprise and can hardly be expressed with words!
This went on to become one of many, moving on to help address physical and mental weakness, environmental barriers and obstacles, breathing issues during Covid, anxiety, panic attacks and motherhood fears. Always challenging, always shooting for the next level. Using movement as the best medicine and taking a holistic approach between the link of the body and mind when pain arises.
The sessions were held either at the gym in person, via zoom, or in my cellar, a journey like no other.
Life will never look the same again
I've been doing PT with Rach for the last 5 years. It started off all about bench pressing but has really evolved since then. I've worked on specific muscles after injuries or bad form and my knowledge of my own body has improved immensely, But as anyone who trains with Rach would know it's not all about the body. Rach has really helped me through some tough times (especially during lockdown) We have had numerous chats trying to address my problems and demons, using movement to help take action towards personal issues. So much respect for this lady
The greatest thing about being coached by Rachelle is how she understands that the body and mind are not mutually exclusive. Her methods have assisted me in becoming increasingly aware of the functions of not only my body, but my mind as well. It has been game changing for my overall physical and especially my mental health to be able to recognise and identify the emotions I am feeling and how to effectively express those emotions through certain types of movement. After having learnt so much about connecting the physical and emotional aspects of training, I implore those who are interested to explore the methods that Coach Rachelle uses with her clients.
I have been coached by Rash for over 10 years. Her style is unique and the results speak for themselves. I started my personal journey a few years ago doing some one-on-one sessions with Rash. I went in with the intent of fixing some physical problems that I was having consistently. The fix though was not simple. She firstly explained the theory behind her methods. Then we spoke about many aspects of life and how we cope with various challenges both small and large. Exercise was of course part of the process as well. Today I feel stronger both physically and emotionally. Rash has helped me gain a greater understanding of how to deal with life’s ups and downs. This is a continuous journey and I am thankful to Rash for her coaching and mentoring. Rash not only has great passion for what she is doing, she cares for the people she works with. With her knowledge and her skills to apply it, you will always progress - and you’re never too old 😉
Coach Rash is one of a kind. She has not only helped me physically but mentally. When I first met Rash I was scared to push myself due to previous injuries. After one session with her my entire perspective on training and mental well- being improved. She not only helped me overcome and recover from previous injuries, but she has helped me become a better person. After just talking to Rash you’re instantly inspired. I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to work with her. Money can’t buy you honesty, and if I’m being honest, I have never worked with someone who is as honest as Coach Rash.
Almost three years ago I embarked on a journey with Rash, similar to Dorothy and Toto except, I had a sandbag, a pec stick, a Rash and a lovely day. Throughout my journey, Rash has managed to peel layers upon layers of emotional and physical hell from me, and helped build me back up to who I am now. Rash no longer has to dig with me, because I know our sanctuary is judgement and bullshit free. I can wholeheartedly say, If it weren’t for Rash and her guidance, I would still be training in sever pain, not acknowledging my physical or emotional pain, in turn still being the victim and still spending an arm and leg on chiros/physios. During our time Rash has been able to provide me with the appropriate tools to become that 1% better than I was yesterday. Do the damn thing, reach out and become a better human.
I was at a point in my life where training was becoming a chore that ended up giving me a bunch of niggles that would not get better no matter how many trips I made to chiros/physios. I had come to the conclusion that I had lost my passion for fitness.. that was until I finally took the initiative to see rash as I had seen multiple posters about rash and her assessments, I pondered overnight and decided to take the plunge.
After our long and interesting assessment, with the help of rash I made a few promises to myself that I would change, reignite my passion and become loyal to myself.
Rash broke me down, stripped me of all my bad habits (including my thoughts as I had been told many time I could not develop muscles due to genetics) and started to rebuild my patterns, movements and most important my voice as I knew I had lost it a long time ago. Lovely day, ride it and a few Disney songs were our go to for our sessions.
The strategies and movement rash has given to me have helped me build my physical endurance, my strength, my mentality and its reignited my passion so much so that rash and I competed side by side and ended partnering together with minimal effort and actual training we ended up winning our first comp together.
My journey still continues and I’m excited to see how far rash can push me and what other levels I can continue to unlock for myself with her help.
Rash is my coach, my mentor, a training partner and a friend.
I came to Rash because I was doing the 5pm class at the gym that she coached and she always got the best out of me . She always coached with so much passion you could clearly see how much it meant to you truly helping people to achieve results. I had heard lots of great feedback about Rash with regards to injury and dysfunction treatment/training. I had a long term shoulder and neck pain/ issues which multiple practitioners I saw couldn't help to solve. Rash assessed me entirely, identified the issues and we took action right away. The results I got were instant and phenomenal in a such a short period of time. Huge definition change in my back region which is what was targeted. No more neck and shoulder pain , which means no more money being wasted on pointless massages and treatments. Up until 3 years later I still use the same exercises that Rachelle taught me, which have a strong effect positively on my body. She helped me build mental strength in me which plays a huge part in my life everyday.
Oh and now I've become a Personal Trainer too.
